The Apostles' Creed

I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead.

On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body,

and the life everlasting.

Amen.

The origin of the Apostles' Creed is the profession of faith made at baptism.

Statement of Faith --- source: the Evangelical Alliance.

We believe in the one true God, revealed to us as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe in God the Father maker of heaven and earth.

We believe that as a true Father, He concerns Himself with us, answering our prayers and saving us from sin and judgment through Jesus His Son.

We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, God's only Son.  We believe He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, lived a perfect life for us, died in our place to absorb the judgment for our sins, was resurrected from the dead and ascended into heaven where He intercedes for us.

We believe in the personal, visible return of Christ when He will fully establish the Kingdom of God which He first inaugurated in His earthly ministry .

We believe that at this time all people will be raised from the dead for the final judgment.

We believe in the Holy Spirit who, at the moment of conversion, comes to live in all believers, to empower them to grow into the likeness of Jesus' character and to follow Him in his work. We believe that the Holy Spirit is present as helper and guide to all true followers of Jesus.

We believe the Scriptures of both Old and New Testaments to be fully inspired and without error. They are our written authority and guide in all matters of faith and practice.
