LAKESIDE MINISTRIES --- HOME & ABROAD

TEACHING

Lakeside Christian Fellowship values the teaching ministry. Teaching is to be found during the Sunday morning service and maybe revisited during other weekly meetings.

HOUSE GROUPS

There are a number of house groups that run in the Fellowship.

PRAYER

The Church values prayer and meets regularly for corporate prayer on Wednesday every week.

WORSHIP

The Church values worship. Sung worship is more formally led on a Sunday morning by our worship group and may also feature in our other meetings during the week.

EVANGELISM

The Church is committed to reaching out to those who don't know Jesus. We believe the most effective way to reach people is the personal testimony of Christians in the Church.

We reach out to others in the spirit of the Great Commission found in Matthew 28: verses 16 to 20:

"Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshipped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.' "

CHILDREN & CHILD PROTECTION POLICY AND THE PROTECTION OF VULNERABLE ADULTS

The Church takes these extremely seriously.

It has a comprehensive Safe Guarding policy that has been approved by the Church Child Protection Agency.

In addition the Church has two Child Protection Officers (CPO).

Copies of the policy may be obtained from the CPO or viewed on a Sunday (details on the Welcome page).

OTHER AREAS OF MINISTRY

Members of Lakeside Christian Fellowship are actively engaged in many different areas of local ministry and the brief summaries below give a flavour of this.

(Please see Links for the relevant websites and/or contact us for further details.)

Woking Street Angels --- a charity established by the Churches of Woking to care for people who, for whatever reasons, find themselves vulnerable in our town centre late on Friday and Saturday nights.

Healing on the Streets is a simple and gentle ministry that releases the church out there on the streets of our town or city. It creates stepping stones for people to come to know Jesus, and along the way they get healed.

The Princess Christian nursing & residential home has about 80 or 90 residents, and every four weeks we provide an Anglican Holy Communion Service (led by one of our ordained ministers) for the residents, family members and staff.

INTERNATIONAL

The Church has contacts and relationship with a number of Churches around the World.

Romania

Lakeside has been visiting Romania regularly since 1993. We have close relationships with the Bread of Life Church in Ploesti and we are committed to support the Bread of Life's ministry to those suffering from AIDS.

The Bread of Church established the Miriam Foundation for Children in 1998. The Foundation is registered with the local government authority which recognises the valuable work which it undertakes with children who, through being given contaminated blood or injected with non-sterile needles in hospitals, have been infected with the HIV virus which frequently develops into AIDS.

Kenya

Lakeside has relationship with the African Inland Church through their Church based in Gil Gil under Senior Pastor John Kivuva and with Talents Revival Center based in Elburgon under Bishop Samuel Muya.

Members from Lakeside regularly visit Kenya and Lakeside has helped support teaching and building programmes in both towns.

Our focus is to assist our brothers and sisters in Kenya spread the gospel of Jesus Christ to their people.

The work includes teaching in the churches and helping establish projects to assist the local communities.

In addition we support Talents Children's Mission in Elburgon through Lakeside Christian Fellowship Trust a registered charity.
